MAD Ideas Engineered is a company with 25+ years’ experience in design and manufacture. Working in areas such as defence, automotive, tooling and general engineering. MAD’s main core of work has been in prototypes, R&D, Jig & Tooling manufacture and small batch work. With a wide range of different projects undertaken over this time the company is used to working in a wide range of materials from plastics through non-ferrous to hardened tool steels.

: MAD designed and manufactured checking fixture for the rear structure of AMG ONE Hyper car. This fixture is designed to replicate the rear diffuser surfaces, enabling the customer to check that the fabricated rear structure does not foul the carbon fibre diffuser assembly. 3D machined from solid aluminium and mounted on sliding guides to replicate the diffuser being slid into position.

: A job that was designed and made overnight! The customer was on a tight deadline to deliver parts that were finished with a long (2.4m) narrow (10mm) felt pad. The issue was the felt was supplied on a roll 100mm wide. This fixture enabled the felt to be loaded and pulled through the cutting area producing 10 x 10mm strips.

: This Drill Jig was machined mainly from aluminium to a customer supplied design. Assembled and tested on customers request.

: A customer supplied design for a rear bumper robot trim fixture. 3D machined nylon blocks mounted with vac cups all machined and assembled by MAD.

: Designed and made by MAD. This rotary draw bend tool stack was made for a customer to form a custom aluminium profile. Machined from P20 tool steel.

: A customer supplied design for the robot sanding of an automotive car spoiler. Machined, assembled and tested by MAD. Nylon blocks 3D machined with inserted vac cups and associated plumbing.

: A fixture to hold 2 parts on a CNC machine centre. Designed and built by MAD. Pneumatics incorporated to speed up load/unload process.

: Completed tool stack assembled on customers rotary former.

: A project to replicate the rear light back plate and bulb housings off a classic car for a local specialist. After taking an original light and 3D scanning, MAD then remodelled and fixed up the CAD before manufacturing new back plates. Centre image shows complete light housing.

: Another 2 weld fixtures designed and manufactured by MAD. Again these weld fixtures are used to hold parts of the sub assembly of the rear crash structure of the Mercedes AMG One hyper car.
